Whether you’re just moving in or hoping to move soon, you’re in luck. Miramar Beach is bursting with great things to do.

While the beach is a major draw, it’s not the only fun thing to do in this thriving community. Food, activities, and events await you in this town nestled in the east of the greater Destin area.

Excited to learn more? Let’s take you on a quick tour of the things to do in Miramar Beach.

Things to Do in Miramar Beach

Happily retired? Young couple? Budding family? Regardless of your age or style, Miramar Beach has something to offer.

Note that some of what we mention here is immediately in Miramar Beach and some is an awesome facet of the greater Destin area. We hope you’ll explore all that the scenic area has to offer.

Fun for the Family

If you need kid-friendly things to do in Miramar Beach, there are plenty. For a whole day outdoors, Big Kahuna’s Water & Adventure Park is a favorite Destin destination.

Have the need for speed? Hop in a go-kart and hit up the raceway at The Track.

Need an indoor activity for rainy days? Why not try nine holes at Rainforest Black Light Golf & Arcade?

Surf and Sand

While you don’t have to be a beach bum, it is one of the best things to do in Miramar Beach! Soak in the rays and develop that deep Florida tan, or have an adventure with the dozens of watersport activities.

Pick up a surfboard at any of the local shops and hit the waves. Swing by Boogies Watersports to go parasailing or rent a jet ski.

Not interested in the water? Stay on the beach and learn to build a sandcastle.

Miramar at Night

Want to dance the night away? Or would you rather sit back and enjoy a few drinks along the surf? Navigating the food scene is one of the top things to do in Miramar Beach.

For a laidback dining experience, Barefoot’s Beachside Bar & Grill offers great food, inspired cocktails, and an excellent view of the gulf.

Vino lovers will want to sample the entire “library” at Vin’tij.

If you’re desperate to dance it out, head over to The Village Door Music Hall where you’ll find an open dance floor, complete with lighted disco ball and nightly entertainment.

Special Events

We adore all of the special events that take place in Miramar Beach. You’ll find farmer’s markets, world-class fishing tournaments, and boat races year-round.

If you’re looking for live music, nothing beats the 30A Songwriter’s Festival. Held every January and just a short drive from Miramar Beach, the 2020 festival hosted Brian Wilson, John Prine, Don McLean, and many more.

Not only that, it simply wouldn’t be the holidays in Miramar without the Festival of Trees along Grand Boulevard.

Keep your eyes on local calendars for many more festivals and events, both large and small.
